PLEASE HELP ME | The day I dined with the Devil

Anytime I hear his heavy footsteps approaching my door I get so scared and angry. The Monster is back to hound, maim and abuse me. It started when I was 12, an innocent girl with a bright future full of life and always cheerful. Suddenly my Mom came home that weekend with this gentle man who's from the eastern Part of Nigeria and she introduced her to me as her fiance. I didn't buy the idea in the first place because daddy just died 2 years back. I thought she owed him that respect to keep herself from every man but I decided to bottle it in and accept my fate. On my 13th birth Uncle Charles my step father bought me a gift and that was when I started seeing him more like my father than a bloody step father. On that day he told me he liked me more than my mom but I didn't really understand what he meant because mom was out of town. He told me he would like to tell me something then that was the day it all started.

I was raped by a beast to cap it all I was menstruating then but he didn't care about my condition. The bleeding was much and I could barely walk. My mom came back that weekend and noticed I couldn't walk properly but he told her I’d sprained my ankle in school. This has been happening for 8 years now and I'm finally pregnant for him. I'm lost and confused, my mom loves him so much and if I tell her she might die because she’s hypertensive and diabetic. Will I carry his baby in my womb because my mom as 2 kids from their marriage. Somebody please help me.....

I'm losing my mind and considering suicide. Please help before I do something stupid. Is there any one you can refer me too?

You can tell an aunt of urs, who would help u tell ur mum. If u don't have any I'm afraid u'll have to tell her urself. She'll eventually find out anyway, what happens then? U certainly don't want more kids for such an animal. It has to stop and the time is NOW!

Its best to tell your mum or a close relative though your mum would rather you kept it away from extended family members. Keeping the baby will ruin you and your family so abortion seem like a better option. YĆ“ur mum will be disappointed if you dont tell her. What are you scared of? Shes still your mum.

I Don't think committing sucide,is the best,in my own view I think u should try and look 4 my who are very close 2 ur mom, who u know that ur mother can never disobey, try 2 confide in dem, so that all this trash can stop,so dat her herself will know that she is leaving with a beast and not husband material......just be calm all will be well IJN

I will advise that you speak to a good pastor first of all who will be able to councel you properly or assign someone to do so, he will also be able to pray with you and speak with your mother in a very frank manner. However, trust me you do not need to end your life because in itself is a sin and abortion would have been best but it's not an option for it's as good as commiting suicide. You have to try and stay positive now. Commit everything into God's hand and He will take control.

Why did you take dis long?I bet you've been njoying d shameful act,my dear pls don't commit suicide and abortion isn't an option either.my candid advice is that you speak to a welfare officer or ur pastor cos I'm sure they'll knw how to Address the issue and find a way to explain to ur mum, I really feel for ur mum.

Its very relieving to realise that a Nigerian has thought it wise to design a blog which sets out to address the appalling issues of domestic violence prevalent in d Nigerian society even amongst d well educated and so called celebrities.
While some shallow-minded individuals often blame d victim as d architect of her own condition, it is pertinent to note that on no account should a right thinking man hit a lady as this is d most irresponsible act a man can dole out to his wife.
Though this phenomenon aint restricted to the Nigerian society alone, it is to be stressed that most developed nations have punitive and corrective measures in place to ensure that domestic violence is reduced to its barest minimum if not totally eradicated which is nowhere to be found here cos even our so called rulers indulge in this degrading act.
On a lighter note, i will encourage our men to use their physical prowess in good light by representing d country in boxing and wrestling tournaments and save us from international disgrace as it is d case at the #londonolympics and as for our celebrities, always remember you are meant to be positive role models for the growing generation of Nigerians.
